Deluxe Studio Apartment-Oaks Hotel-Ocean Views

It has been the worst stay experience ever in my life. Positive: Probably the View is alright Negative: Most horrendous accommodation experience. Shortly after we arrived, we noticed the carpet was old, dirty, and slightly sticky. We also found hair on the floor, which clearly indicated that the room had not been properly cleaned. After returning to the room following dinner, we discovered at least five cockroaches, both large and small. This explained a lot about the overall hygiene standards of the room. We have never encountered that many pests in any accommodation before. Considering we were travelling with our 1-year-old and 4-year-old children, we could no longer accept the health and safety risks posed by the room. We decided to leave and informed the manager that we would not stay unless the room was properly cleaned. Instead of addressing our concerns, the owner simply cancelled our booking after we had already checked in and spent only 3 hours in the room. The booking was then marked as a "No Show", which was inaccurate. We did show up and checked into the room, although our stay was cut short due to the unacceptable conditions. We never intended to leave. However, the hygiene, health, and safety concerns were simply too significant for us to endure, especially with two young children. Following this, we attempted to contact the property owner several times via both email and text message, but received no response whatsoever. We think it's unfair to even still charge us for the accommodation cost. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with both the condition of the accommodation and the complete lack of customer service in handling our concerns. I would not recommend this property to families or anyone expecting a clean and safe place to stay. Avoid this accommodation if you're not big fan of cockroches...

Positive: The view and location Negative: So many cockroachs

Although the location was pleasant I would not stay here again. Positive: The location was good and the bedding was comfortable - the room was a decent size. Negative: The kitchenette was infested with cockroach’s - when I came to the room any time of the day they were crawling all over the kitchen bench which prevented me from using it- I bought bug spray and had to use it every time I entered the room over my 7 day stay - I alerted the host of the issue and they weren’t interested in rectifying the situation.

Comfortable, well-equipped, and conveniently located Positive: The property is conveniently located close to the tram, making it easy to get around. The room and bathroom were both spacious and comfortable. The TV was large, and Wi-Fi was included, which was a great bonus. The apartment was also well-equipped with a microwave, toaster, and other kitchen essentials, making it convenient if you prefer to prepare or enjoy meals in the apartment. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable, which made for a pleasant stay. Negative: The property is a little older than I expected, and some of the furniture is noticeably worn. However, everything was still functional and usable. I’m not sure if this is common in Queensland, but we noticed that whenever we left food in the pantry, cockroaches would appear. It may be worth having the property treated for pests. In the meantime, I’d recommend not storing food in the pantry. Unfortunately, the coffee machine had not been cleaned properly. I found a small cockroach inside the water container, which was quite unpleasant. The coffee capsules were also not provided, which was disappointing. I’m generally not someone who is easily disgusted, but this genuinely surprised me. I think the cleaner should have ensured the coffee machine was thoroughly cleaned before our arrival.
